AFMSA

Our Mission:
The mission of HQ AFMSA, formally the Air Force Office of Medical Support, is to improve global performance, capability, and cost effectiveness of the Medical Service in supporting combat forces and maintaining the health of beneficiaries. It is the Surgeon General’s primary focal point for policy development, strategies, plans, consultant services and requirements dealing with facilities, supplies, equipment, acquisition, information systems and resources.

Who We Are:
The Health Facilities Division serves as the focal point for Air Staff management and coordination of all matters pertaining to medical facilities through the Military Construction Program, facilities maintenance and improvements and medical facility design. Two regional Health Facilities Offices support construction activities throughout the Medical Service. These include the western region office in San Francisco, and the eastern region office in Atlanta.

The Medical Information Systems Division monitors the development, acquisition installation and application of computer-based medical information handling and retrieval systems. The division is the single automated data processing manager for Medical Service operations and performs special procedural and cost benefit analyses.

The Medical Logistics Division develops plans and policies concerning medical materiel (both supply and equipment), biomedical equipment maintenance and repair, service contracts, medical materiel support, and Medical Facilities Management for Medical Service missions during peacetime and war.
