CEMM CHARTER
The CEMM is a dynamic initiative from the Office of the Surgeon General aimed at supplying the most powerful interactive technologies available to Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF’s), Health and Wellness Centers (HAWCs), and TRICARE civilian medical facilities. The CEMM has been designed from the ground up as a production facility and clearinghouse for interactive patient education programs. CEMM infrastructure, budget, manning, hardware, and legacy software clearly reflect this. The CEMM is destined to become a nationally recognized leader in patient-related interactive multimedia. These advanced multimedia computer programs make highly complex medical topics both simple and interesting for patients of all ages and educational backgrounds. Our dedicated staff includes a physician, nurse educators, programming personnel, a videographer and experienced medical administration support people.
MISSION:
The CEMM's fundamental purpose is to oversee the development of interactive patient education programs in support of Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) beneficiaries. These products will complement the efforts of qualified health care professionals. Media delivery platforms include CD-ROM, DVD, videotape, and the Internet.
VISION:
Patient Empowerment
The CEMM's vision for patient education is focused squarely on patient empowerment. Simply put, the CEMM is founded on the belief that patients have a right to know as much as possible about their medical conditions, options available to them and the possible consequences of their decisions.
