An Aggressive Vision for Co-Sourcing and Partnering
The CEMM is a strong advocate of partnering and co-sourcing. We continuously review/survey the civilian and military multimedia development communities to ensure the "edge of the envelope" is known and being integrated into our Air Force products. The CEMM has brought together the efforts of highly skilled individuals allowing them to develop cutting edge multimedia delivery systems. This has resulted in the creation of the highest quality interactive multimedia information tools for the clinical, readiness, and prevention/wellness communities.
Of equal importance is the development of a repository of consultative expertise for the Surgeon General of the Air Force to draw upon as information technologies continue to change. The CEMM continues to develop and maintain relationships with nationally known leaders, institutions, and companies who are committed to empowering patients to make the right individual medical decisions.
Today's technology, leveraged by talented and dedicated professionals, holds tremendous promise for improving medical care for our Department of Defense personnel and their family members. As you view this site, we hope it helps you in understand our vision for obtaining, creating and using technology to educate our beneficiaries. Read on for an example of a recent CEMM partnership success:
AccentHealth's Waiting Room Network, produced by Turner Private Networks, Inc., has won three national awards for its excellence in health information programming. The Waiting Room Network (WRN) is a leading provider of reliable health care information to consumers. It provides information to over 20 million medical and pharmacy waiting room visitors each month, and reaches more than 50,000 healthcare professionals at their offices. The CEMM recently negotiated a Department of Defense contract to deploy the WRN to all Air Force Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) and Health and Wellness Centers CONUS wide. This DoD contract also provides the Army, Navy and Veteran's Administration with an avenue to deploy the WRN in their respective medical treatment facilities.
